SPA IM 'Top 16' Ballot Overview

At the Scottish Pool Association (SPA) Annual General Meeting of 2nd March 2014 it was agreed by the members to hold a ballot of the Individual Membership to decide whether the Top 16 Ranked players should have to qualify for each National Finals event through their respective areas OR, as at present, receive automatic qualification to each event.
IM area representatives have up to midnight on Sunday 20th April to add their members' votes to this website.
Only votes recorded on this site by IM reps will count in the final result.
The ballot question is as follows...

Group Scoring and Tables at Super 11s Premier Event

A scoring system has been prepared which would which will allow SPA members to view live group results at the Super 11 Premier Division event on PCs and mobile devices.
The update of results at the venue is straightforward and takes little time, requiring only the input of match scores as they are played. The fixtures are input before the event. The group tables update automatically as frame scores are entered.
This provides a means of viewing live scores and current tables directly from the venue. Most importantly that display will refresh automatically. So just leave that view on your PC screen and almost immediately results will appear as they are input at the venue.
The results and tables are displayed in a number of other ways....

Online Voting by Affiliated Leagues and IM Areas

There seems little doubt that online voting would give many more players the opportunity to have their say and influence the outcome of polls.
The great advantage is that the progress of each poll (initial discussions, proposals, votes, results, etc) could be viewed by any player with PC or mobile internet access.
Every league has an online league representative who is able to vote on behalf of their league. Furthermore every IM area now has an IM rep who can vote on this website on exclusively IM related matters. In a number of cases the same individual is both the online league rep and IM rep for their league/area. It is up to each area to decide who will be their representative(s).
